Illinois state Rep. Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) is looking forward to bringing more opportunities to the state of Illinois.
During his time in Springfield, Ugaste established a goal of making Illinois a pro-growth state. He recently said in an interview with the McHenry Times that he believes using Illinois' strengths of geography, workforce and resources will aid in change.
"I'm proud that Leader McCombie has asked me to serve on working groups to increase opportunity in Illinois, as well as improved public safety," Ugaste told the Times. "I will be leading the Reigniting Illinois's Strong Economy working group."
The five working groups are: Sustaining & Protecting At-Risk Kids, Supporting Women and Families, Reigniting Illinois’ Strong Economy, Literacy Improves Future Endeavors, and Improving Public Safety; a recent WTVO report said.
Ugaste addressed issues that Illinois is currently facing. He intends to help residents by forming solutions for high property taxes, countless regulations and additional costs.
"Illinois has a lot going for it, it truly does," he told the Times. "We can solve our problems with multiple bills I have filed and others within my caucus have filed. We will be introducing to bring more opportunities for all Illinoisans and make Illinois a place where families want to come and stay for a long time to come."
Ugaste was first elected to the Illinois House in 2018, the General Assembly website said. He resides in Geneva and has lived in Illinois his entire life. He graduated from Lake Forest College in 1985 and received his juris doctorate from DePaul University.
