FOIA Request Sent to City of Woodstock Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024

FOIA Request to City of Woodstock Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

In our ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at McHenry Times have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The request was sent to the City of Woodstock and pertains specifically to unpaid parking violations.

We have asked for a list of all parking violations currently unpaid within the city's jurisdiction. This list should include the name of the offender, their address, the amount due, violation date, and total due.

As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.

We will continue our pursuit of this information and update our readers with any developments. We remain committed to providing thorough coverage on local governmental affairs and ensuring transparency in public institutions.
