The Woodstock Department of Public Works will begin collecting bulk leaves next week and continue on three other dates this fall.

Residents north of the railroad tracks can set leaves out for collection by 7 a.m. on Oct. 26 and again on Nov. 9.

Residents south of the railroad tracks should set leaves out for pickup by 7 a.m. on Nov. 2 and Nov. 16.

The city is asking residents to rake their leaves into the parkway, but not into the street. The city also advises residents not to park on the street within 20 feet of any leaf pile.

Anyone wishing to bag their leaves should use only paper bags and contact the Department of Public Works at 815-338-6118 to request bagged-leaf pickup. Residents along Route 47 and Route 120 are encouraged to use bags, which make collection less dangerous for collection crews in those areas.
