Village of Lakewood board meeting, agenda approvals and reports

The Village of Lakewood approved several items on the agenda at its mid-November board meeting.

The board met at the Red Tail Golf Club at 7 p.m. on Nov. 10.

The top items that were discussed and approved were the proposal of insurance with Arthur J. Gallagher & Company and Williams Manny, the budget amendment for FY 2015-2016 and the intergovernmental agreement for the General Public Dial-A-Ride Transit Services for 2016.

Additional items that considered and approved in one vote were the Oct. 27 minutes of the regular Village board meeting, the accounts payable invoices for Oct. and dated Nov. 11. and the ordinance authorizing the Village of Lakewood to borrow from the public water supply loan program.

No items were removed from the consent agenda and no public comments were made at the meeting prior to hearing agenda items.

In the reports section of the meeting it was announced the Dec. through March 2016 board meetings will be held at Turnberry Country Club. Public Works employees were commended on their safety procedures in which workers stop mowing  road shoulders when encountering bicyclists until the bikers are safely past .

There was also a discussion about the timing of the fall brush pick up and the preparation of snow plows for winter weather. Lastly, a question by a west side resident was raised regarding sheds with board deciding that the ordinance regarding sheds would not change.

The board adjourned after reports were completed.
