The city of McHenry's fiscal budget and capital improvement program were major topics of discussion at the Oct. 19 Finance and Personnel Committee meeting.
City Administrator Derik Morefield set out a schedule for preparing for the fiscal year 2016-17 through 2020-21 capital improvement program. A overview of the program, as well as the purpose behind the program was provided to the committee, which will review the program on Jan. 11.
The committee also discussed preparation of the 2016-17 fiscal year budget. Morefield told the committee that the budget is something that needs to happen at the beginning of the year. There was a discussion of new items and potential new budgets for the recreation center and for human resources.
