Woodstock libraries see 10 percent circulation drop in 2015.
Circulation at Woodstock Public Libraries is down 10 percent from 2014, according to the librarian’s report at the Woodstock Public Library Board of Trustees meeting on Oct. 1.
The circulation number doesn’t include e-material books that were checked out.
The librarian’s report also included the discussion of a new English conversation club, which was made for those seeking to learn English as a second language. The week of Oct. 1 was Banned Books Week: the library had several different displays that explained why books were banned.
The library is also undergoing some other projects. The tiles that are part of the art project were to be installed in the front entry of the library. They were set to be installed after the Oct. 1 meeting. The library has a new cleaning service, which took affect after the Oct. 1 meeting. The new company is Mega Commercial Services.
The library will be celebrating its 125th anniversary. A budget is being set for the event, as well as the design of a logo that is being reviewed by the staff.
Lastly, the library has purchased iPads and Surface Pro tablets that will be used for the library.
