Serenity Creek Subdivision's revised plat receives approval

The City of Woodstock Plan Commission approved a revised final plat for the Serenity Creek Subdivision during its Nov. 19 meeting.

The property now includes parcel and lot lines that will enable individual residential dwellings to be sold.

Acquired by Hearthstone Communities and Prairie Community Bank after its original developer filed for bankruptcy, the subdivision will feature its previously announced design and concept. The common areas of the site will be maintained by the homeowners' association, while information regarding the upkeep and ownership of the dwelling units will be prepared and revealed at a later date.

Multiple commission members suggested that the term "Lot 1," located north of Lot 5, should be removed in order to eliminate confusion and that the plat title should be changed to "First Amended Plat of Serenity Creek Planned Development."

In addition to the revised plat, the meeting also held a discussion about William Clow leaving the commission because he was relocating to another area. Numerous members praised Clow for his contributions to the commission and city.

Members present at the meeting were Clow, Don Fortin, Steve Gavers, Robert Horrell, Darrell Moore, Doreen Paluch, Katherine Parkhurst, Jack Porter and Erich Thurow.
