The Lake in the Hills Committee of the Whole discussed the 2015 tax levies and various renewals at its Nov. 10 meeting.

The proposed 2015 tax levy of more than $5.48 million was presented to the Lake in the Hills Committee of the Whole by Finance Director Rich Hentschel at the Nov. 10 meeting. The various funds included in the 2015 levy were audit, $13,850; social security, $707,000; police protections, $609,584; IMRF, $566,000; police pensions, $1,250,911; liability insurance, $173,880; workers compensation, $260,670; and corporate, $1.9 million.

The committee also discussed a variety of leases, contracts and other agreements. The lease agreements for 9017 Haligus Road and 290 Indian Trail expire on Dec. 31. The agreements with Blue Skies Flying Service and Finefield Aviation were discussed, with new agreements extending from Dec. 31, 2015 through Dec. 31, 2019.

The agreement for the audit services provided by Sikich LLP was presented by Hentschel, with the total proposed cost of $32,200. These and other items, including amendments to the Economic Incentive Policy and Municipal Code, were placed on the village board agenda.

The trustees also mentioned the recent Pub in the Park event. Comments on the event were positive, and trustee Yensen mentioned the possibility of vendors providing lists of locally available beers at the next event.

The recap meeting of People for the Parks Foundation was scheduled for Nov. 11.
