County preservation panel to consider commission elections, Coventry House
The McHenry County Preservation Commission is scheduled to discuss its annual elections at its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the McHenry County Administration Building in Woodstock.
The commission will consider open seats on the commission, as well as the position of chairperson. All of the positions must be approved by the County Board.
The commission will consider an application for historic landmark status for he 160-year-old William Conventry House. The site is already on a number of statewide historic preservation lists.
The commission will also consider Scots Cemetery in Marengo and the installation of a sign at Harmony Heritage Grove.
The commission has designated 22 historic landmarks in McHenry County since it began its work in 1991.
