The Cary Village Board is expected to vote on a community event grant program Tuesday.
Cary village trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to consider a measure that would establish a community event grant funding program.
The resolution would facilitate the funding of grants to be used for community events that would offer multiple services to village residents. These would include youth and senior events, cultural events and recreational activities.
The agenda packet states that approximately $20,000 to $40,000 in grants would be offered on an annual basis with revenue coming from gaming taxes from the state. Through this program, events for nonprofit groups would be able to receive funding based on an application process and available funding. Applications would then be reviewed by village trustees.
The resolution was initially discussed at a committee-of-the-whole meeting in October.
Should the resolution pass, the first set of applications for funding would need to be submitted by April 1.
