The Huntley Village Board will meet as a committee of the whole at 7 p.m. Thursday to discuss a proposal for engineering design and work at the village’s east and west wastewater treatment facilities.
The agenda packet includes a proposal submitted by Engineering Enterprises Inc. regarding the work that is needed at both facilities. The proposal includes a limit on cost, which is set at $184,000 for the design portion with the proposed work estimated at approximately $2.72 million for both treatment plants. It also indicates that these costs would be paid out over the course of three years.
Work that would be carried out at the east plant includes replacing valves and gates for oxidation ditches and installing variable frequency drives and a control system relating to aerators at the oxidation ditch to facilitate biological removal processes. For the west facility, work would consist of automation of the aerobic digestion controls, improvements in drainage for its oxidation ditch and replacing motors, mud valves and other components.
The village had agreed in September to the preparation of documents relating to engineering services that included the both facilities.
