At the time of the meeting there were seven businesses that had submitted applications to provide waste hauling service for commercial areas and one of them, Waste Management of Illinois, also submitted an application for  residential service in Sun City. The businesses that had waste hauling licenses approved were Waste Management, Republic Services, Groot Industries Inc. Prairieland Disposal Inc., Ray Schreiber Disposal Co., MDC Environmental Services and Advanced Disposal.

The Village Board also approved an intergovernmental agreement with the McHenry County Housing Authority that allows the housing authority to offer its voucher program for low-income residents of the village.
