The Crystal Lake Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a special-use permit relating to signs for a local gas station at its next regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. today at Crystal Lake City Hall.
Casey’s Gas Station, located at SW Route 176 and Terra Cotta, has requested that the facility be allowed to utilize 252.05 square feet of wall and a deferment of the requirement to install a sidewalk in the front of the lot and bury overhead utility lines. The gas station is requesting the latter for a period of time up until an area program to facilitate these requirements is established.
Under current city code, wall signs can be up to 150 square feet in size.
This commission also will discuss amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance and an amendment that would allow a 54-square-foot sign to be placed at an Achieve Footwear, 1AW Crystal Lake Plaza.
These agenda items will be open for public discussion, and questions and comments will be taken into consideration by the commission.
