Fox River Grove discusses Parks Clean-up Day

At a recent meeting, the Village of Fox River Grove, Illinois Parks Commission discussed the Parks Clean-up Day that will be taking place in April.

This clean-up event will be taking place on Saturday, April 23 and it is an annual event that brings volunteers from the community to clean and pick up litter and debris from the parks within the village. Residents interested in volunteering are asked to sign up via phone call to the Village Hall at 847-639-3170 or via email at village@foxrivergrove.org. Previous parks clean-up days have taken place between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.

The commission also held a discussion regarding a fundraiser event that is set to take place on Saturday, March 12.

This commission also held discussions regarding placement of a new welcome sign for the village, an update regarding Sled Hill, and the Department of Public Works provided its monthly report. The meeting minutes for its Jan. 6 meeting were also reviewed.

There are 12 parks within the village limits with an approximate total of 100 acres with various facilities including picnic space, fields and courts for baseball, volleyball, basketball and soccer.
