The Lake in the Hills Village Board will discuss rejecting bids for two pickup trucks being sought by the Public Works Department at its committee-of-the-whole meeting at 7;30 p.m. Tuesday.
Bids had been sought two Ford pickup trucks, one with and one without an extended cab, and the bids were opened Jan, 27.
Three bids were opened for the standard-cab vehicle. Two of the submitted bids stipulated the purchase be awarded by Jan. 31, which the department said did not fall in line with village requirements and could not be accepted.
The third bid was for over the budgeted amount for the vehicle so the department recommended its rejection
Two bids were opened for the extended-cab version of vehicle, and the department recommended they be rejected for having an order deadline or going over the budgeted amount. As a result the department is recommending that a new bidding process is initiated.
Public Works has also recommended that agreements be made for the procurement of a trailer mounted melter applicator and a dump truck with snow plowing equipment.
