The Lake in the Hills Parks and Recreation Department is conducting a survey to gauge what the community would like to see added to the Stoneybrook Park playground area.
The survey will be available until March 1 on the village website. The village said the park will be undergoing renovations in the summer that will mainly focus on the playground area. There are currently swing sets and other free-standing equipment and a tot lot for younger children. An existing climbing structure at the playground will not be removed as a result of renovations.
The survey asks questions that include the ages of people within a household and what accommodations residents find necessary for full enjoyment of park. The survey also asks those taking the survey to indicate the importance of each item on a list that includes shade, ropes, accessibility, sliding, climbing and other items. It also features images of sample equipment that could be acquired for the park. The survey also provides space to note items or equipment that residents do not want to see at the park.
The park also features half and full courts for basketball, water fountains and a gazebo area.
