U-Stor-It wants to build a self-storage facility in the Lake Pointe Subdivision.
The Lake in the Hills Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on a request for a conditional use for a self-storage facility.
U-Stor-It is requesti g the conditional use for a self-storage facility that would be built in Lots 3 and 4 of the Lake Pointe Subdivision. The 105,740-square-foot facility would be two-stories tall.
According to the agenda packet, the reason that a petition is required for this project is that in 2004 the Lake Pointe Planned Development Plan did not include self-storage facilities within its collection of conditional uses.
Village staff reports that this conditional use is not expected to result in additional traffic that is above and beyond any current conditional uses that are currently assigned with the area. Staff also found that developing this plot for the self-storage facility is not expected to impede the development of the surrounding area.
