The Lake in the Hills Village Board discussed the purchase of four police vehicles and a request for a video gaming license at a recent committee-of-the-whole meeting.

The police department is requesting the purchase of four 2016 Ford Utility Interceptor all-wheel drive vehicles for a total of $108,032. David Brey, who represented the department, said that the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) Governing Board has approved the contract for the purchase. The vehicles will be provided by Currie Motors under the the SPC contract.

The agenda summary states that the budgeted amount for the purchase is $109,360.

A letter sent by a representative of the SPC states that municipalities that are a part of the cooperative can purchase the vehicles with option packages and individualized options available. The contract with SPC expires on Nov. 8 with a possible yearlong extension.

The board also discussed a request for a video gaming license by the Lake in the Hills Property Owners Association and a raffle license application for the Lake in the Hills American Legion Post 1231.
