The Fox River Grove Village Board held a committee-of-the-whole session on Feb. 4 to discuss tree replacement in parks and a project from the recreation council.

The meeting notes state that 24 trees have been removed from various parks in the village. Based on pricing from a nursery, staff estimated that replacing the trees at these locations would cost approximately $7,200. Trees would range in size from 2.5 inches to 4 inches in diameter. The board indicated they supported the expenditure.

Board members also discussed a request from the Recreation Council to purchase a set of soccer goal posts. Village Board members said the council was established a few years ago and $3,000 had been approved to fund a project. According to the minutes, no project ever came abou. Village Board members requested that members of the council attend a future meeting to further discuss the request.
