The Huntley Village Board will meet as a committee of the whole at 7 p.m. Thursday to discuss a bid for parkway tree planting services among other items.

The agenda packet states that a bidding processes was held earlier in February for the 50/50 Residential Tree Tree Replacement Program, and the four  submitted bids were reviewed on Feb. 18.

Staff determined that the bid offering the lowest average cost estimates was from Apex Landscaping Inc. with the average cost for tree planting listed at $384 per individual tree. The agenda packet notes that the company offers a wide selection of tree species.

The agreement would facilitate that the company supply the trees and provide planting services to the designated areas in the village. The planting services would include the removal of unnecessary soil from the site, clearing resulting material, mulching and the initial watering for the trees.

The staff reports that the budget has allocated $75,000 for this project and a total of 400 trees are expected to be planted through 2016. Bids were sought for the 50/50 Residential Tree Tree Replacement Program. The agenda packet state that a total of four bids were submitted and reviewed.
