The Lake in the Hills Village Board will meet as a committee of the whole at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the village’s Summer Sunset Festival agreement with Windy City Amusements.
The proposed agreement with Windy City Amusements would involve a three-year contract with the company to facilitate carnival services for the annual festival. This year, the Summer Sunset Festival is scheduled to take place Sept. 2 - 4.
Under the proposed agreement, the company will also be offering $4,000 dollars in sponsorship funding. The company would be supplying rides, attractions, booths and associated equipment for the three-day event.
Within the agreement there is an exclusivity clause in the provision of concession items that includes popcorn, snow cones, soft drinks, corn dogs and other related food items through the company’s food stands. The village would receive 38.5 percent of revenue from ride tickets and related admission fees up to $72,500, on revenues above that amount, the village’s portion will increase 45.5 percent.
Windy City Amusements has been involved with the festival in the past.
