According to the county's flier, this can consist of issues relating to plumbing, electrical systems, leaking roofs, mold and other problems that can be detrimental to health and safety of occupants.
There are limitations on the amount a family may earn in order to qualify for this program. A family of four could earn only earn up to $38,000 annually and a single individual would be able to earn up to $26,600 to qualify.
The announcement indicates that support for these kinds of repairs will fall under one of two categories depending on the total costs of repairs. Repairs under $3,000 will be considered loans that do not require repayment and will not accrue interest and will be forgiven after a five-year period. Those over $3,000 would need to be repaid upon sale of the home.
