Woodstock City Council considers speed limit in Ponds of Bull Valley development

The Woodstock City Council met Tuesday, Aug. 16.

1. Ordinance – Speed Reduction

a) Adoption of an Ordinance amending the Woodstock City Code creating a maximum speed limit of 25 miles per hour on all streets within the Ponds of Bull Valley Development and b) Authorizing Posting of Associated Signage for Serenity Lane, Greenview Drive, Fairview Lane and Preswick Lane. (73a)(Doc. 2)

2. Award of Bid – Old Courthouse Windows

a) Authorization to Award the Bid for the Replacement of a Portion of the Old Courthouse Windows to Sjostrom & Sons for the Base Bid (i.e., Installing Pine Windows on the Westside) and Alternate 1 (i.e., South Wall, First and Second Story Windows) for a total cost of $205,989. (73b)

3. Resolution – Final Change Order - Sheriff's House Windows

a) Adoption of a Resolution Authorizing Extending the Completion Date to July 25, 2016.

b) Authorizing a $2,320 Reduction to the Contract Amount. (73c)(Doc. 3)

4. Waiver of Competitive Bids and Award of Bid – Well #8 Preventative Maintenance

a) Approval to authorize a waiver of competitive bids, and b) Approve the proposal from Layne Christensen Company to provide materials, labor, and equipment to pull, inspect, and reinstall Well #8 (as described in their proposal dated August 3, 2016) for a total estimated cost not to exceed $35,847. (73d)

5. Waiver of Competitive Bids and Award of Bid – Reusable Bags

a) Approval to authorize a waiver of competitive bids, and b) Approve the proposal from American Ad Bag for the purchase of 15,000 Reusable Bags for a total estimated cost not to exceed $39,750. (73e)

6. Policy – New City Incentives

a) Discussion and Approval of a New City Policy establishing a Contractors' Incentive Program that Offers Contractors an Incentive to Reduce Costs and Maximize Efficiencies after Contract Awards. (73f)
