McHenry County Mental Health Board considers adding handicapped ramp

The Office of McHenry County Mental Health Board met July 14 to consider adding a handicapped ramp to the CRC conference room.

I. CALL TO ORDER – Cathy Ferguson called the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m. Roll call was taken.

II. PUBLIC COMMENT – none.

III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - FOR ACTION

Sam Melei motioned to approve the Minutes of the January 14, 2016 Buildings and Grounds Committee. Seconded by

Diane Wasilk. A VOICE VOTE WAS TAKEN. All in favor. Motion carried.

IV.OLD BUSINESS - FOR DISCUSSION/RECOMMENDATION/ACTION

Discussion included the roof leaking issue that is now fixed. Additional leakage issues have occurred in the annex basement

(north-end) and the AV closet in the conference room. Lieske Waterproofing and Construction will work to reseal leaks. The

Committee members discussed the warrantee of work done, property management, capital assessment.

V. NEW BUSINESS - FOR DISCUSSION/RECOMMENDATION/ACTION

A. General Updates

Terry provided the Buildings and Grounds Committee Report as presented in the packet and added items updated:

? Need of a sensor for HVAC is on order

? Sealcoating by Quality Sealcoating is scheduled for weekend of July 23

Scott noted a request from McCAP to add a handicapped ramp to the back entrance of the CRC conference room space.

Discussion of the cost of adapting the entrance and quotes that came in between $2-$4,000. Staff will review quotes and

consider accommodating the request to meet this need with the lowest responsible bidder.

Other items reviewed included: the wireless access within the building, key access accommodations for building tenants, fire

safety, backflow, elevator inspection, and the successful inspection for Rosecrance to become certified.

B. Draft MCMHB Building Assessment RFP

Scott provided the draft RFP modeling it from the County RFP. The County Director of Facilities, Tom Burroughs, felt this

document would more than meet the needs of MHB. MHB requires someone to identify scope of services, review and

determine priorities and potential costs. Mr. Burroughs suggested that architects should be interested in this type of request.

This is separate from the County IT project. Staff will add dates and get out RFP.

C. Draft Intergovernmental Agreement between MHB and McHenry County Facilities Management

The County and Legal Counsel have revised and reviewed the IGA. The beginning contract would be for 1 year for $8,785

with the recommendation that janitorial services be increased. Scott suggested that MHB try this for one year as stated on

the IGA with hopes of gaining a better understanding of maintenance needs. Discussion of timing issue were considered and

language will be altered to accommodate any change. Sam Melei motioned to recommend the Draft IGA between MHB

and McHenry County Facilities Management. Seconded by Diane Wasilk. All in favor. Motion carried.

Cathy discussed the issue of scheduling to accommodate other members who are usually unable to attend. Because the

Committee meets so infrequently it was to consider holding the meeting later.

VI.PUBLIC COMMENT – none.

VII.ADJOURN – Sam Melei motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Sam Melei. A VOICE VOTE WAS TAKEN. All in

favor. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 5:56 p.m.
