Fox River Grove ranked 296th in state in lottery ticket sales for February 2016

The Village of Fox River Grove had the 296th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of February 2016 -- down 104 spots from its January ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Fox River Grove was $23.59 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the McHenry Times, Fox River Grove generated $110,549.50 in net sales from its four lottery retailers in February 2016, compared to $114,462.50 in February 2015.

The Village of Fox River Grove is in Lake County, and has a population of 4,686, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Barrington Hills, Cary, Trout Valley and Lake Barrington.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in February 2016 was $26,400.08.

Fox River Grove's top lottery retailer is Fox River Grove Shell located at 848 Northwest Hwy, Fox River Grove, IL 60021.

Fox River Grove Shell generated 43 percent of Fox River Grove's February 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of Lake County's sales that month, which was $9,715,231.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Lake County in 2015 were Wadsworth, Hainesville, Lake Villa, Antioch and Fox Lake.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
