Village of Wonder Lake Board of Trustees Committee of the Whole met April 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm

Roll Call: Present: Topf, McIntosh, Anderson, Learman, Naatz, Reinhard

Absent: Windler

A quorum was established with 5 Trustees

Attorney: Not Present

Public Comment:

• Dick Hilton, MPOA President – he informed the Board that there was a great newsletter send out by Harrison School District 36 about the arrangements between NRB and Harrison School. Mr. Hilton thanked the Board for all work done to help the school.

Department Updates:

-Engineering – Steve Zehner, Robinson Engineering – Present

• Water Meter/Buffalo Box Project - hired another staff member to complete the location of all B-Boxes in the water system, working on having the bid ready to go by June

-Public Works – Chuck Bissell – Present

• New Truck – will have information about the truck looking to purchase to the Board at the next meeting

-Village Administrator - Steve Weir, Village Administrator – Present

• Staff Meeting – the meeting was held this morning and Trustee Learman was present

• Meadows of West Bay – approached by a group that is interested in buying and developing MOWB, this is a discovery meeting only, will meet with their Engineer on Friday

• Retirement Date – need to close out a few items so will be retiring on June 1st

-Police - Chief Crilly – Present – Nothing at this time

-General Affairs – Trustee Reinhard – Present

• Dugouts – starting work

-Financial – Trustee Naatz – Present

• Budget – will bring something before the Board next month

-E.S.D.A. Health - Trustee Palys – Present – Nothing at this time

-Planning and Zoning Commission – Chairperson Cavanaugh – Present

• Variance – homeowner wants to put up a new 1 car garage on the side lot but the garage will be within 3 ft. of lot line instead of 5 ft. so needs a variance, backside of house variance will also be needed, public hearing being held next month.

-Communications / Public Relations – Trustee Windler – Not Present – Nothing at this time

-Sewer and Water – Trustee Anderson – Present – Nothing at this time

Old Business:

• Dog Park – gave information to the P&Z Commission

New Business:

• Dog Waste Stations – Trustee Palys suggested that due to Wonder Lake being a pet friendly community may want to consider stations at parks, the Board discussed starting with Jacobsen park and possibly one other location on the East Side as a test

• NRB – the next step in the process is to annex the Harrison School property; the Village will be able to process the permits faster than through the County; the Village will see this at the end of next month, will have to do a zoning change because the County and the Village Zoning do not match, there will need to be extra monies for police hours at the school for many years and for County back-up, the School Board will have a resolution and will present it to the Village Board.

Motion by: Trustee Reinhard

Second by: Trustee Learman

Voice Vote Ayes: Anderson, Learman, Naatz. Palys, Reinhard

Nays: None

Abstain: None

Absent: Windler

Motion carries with 5 Trustees

Meeting Adjourned at 7:31 pm
