Four applicants are vying for the seat left vacant by the resignation of Nunda Township Trustee Ed Dvorak, according to a report from the McHenry County Blog.
Current trustees will be tasked with choosing from among William Boltz, Justen Frankze, Todd Lowenheim and Mike Shorten.
Shorten and Boltz ran for trustee seats in the February Republican primary. Shorten, a former trustee and Republican precinct committeeman, ran on a slate with the Parrish brothers, and according to the McHenry County Blog, is likely to receive their support for the appointment. Boltz is a retired union carpenter and a Republican precinct committeeman.
Frankze ran for township assessor in the primary and was part of a slate with Supervisor Lee Jennings. The McHenry County Blog reported that he is likely to receive the support of Jennings and trustee Karen Tynis. He is a licensed real estate agent and operates Frankze Decorating.
Lowenheim owns an insurance agency and has served on the board of the Chamber of Commerce, during which he helped plan Fiesta Days. He is also a Kiwanis member and part of the local snowmobile club.
Current trustees are Tynis, Rob and Tim Parrish, and Jennings. In case of a tie, Township Clerk Joni Smith will cast the deciding vote.
