Under former Algonquin Township Highway Commissioner Bob Miller, several personal vehicles were registered on the township’s I-Pass account, and he appears have accessed the account after leaving office to remove those vehicles, according to allegations raised in a report from the Edgar County Watchdogs.
“Records reflect at least five private vehicles were listed on the Township’s I-PASS account and one just happens to be a red Corvette,” Watchdogs co-founder Kirk Allen wrote in the post on the group’s Illinois Leaks website. “Hey Mr. Miller, do you drive a red Corvette? So far the only confirmation that he does comes from several local citizens, so for now, it’s hearsay that the particular red Corvette on the I-PASS system is his.”
While Miller was leading the commission, there were eight vehicles on the I-Pass system that appear to have been private vehicles, including four vehicles under one license plate, according to the group.
In addition, Miller appears to have accessed the account after leaving office, having four private vehicles moved from the account to a new one, the group notes. The group concludes the vehicles are likely Miller’s.
