Hultgren honors Prairie Ridge Wolves football champions
The state-champion football team from Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake was recently honored on the floor of the U.S. Capitol.
Rep. Randy Hultgren (R-IL), who represents Illinois' 14th Congressional District, honored the undefeated Wolves with remarks from the floor of the House on Nov. 30, a release from his office said.
Hultgren praised Wolves head coach Chris Schremp on winning the Illinois High School Association Coach of the Year award as well as quarterback Samson Evans, who has been honored by the Chicago Sun-Times as its Player of the Year.
Evans has committed to play football at the University of Iowa.
Prairie Ridge wrapped up its 15-0 season with a 28-21 victory over LaGrange Park's Nazareth Academy in the Class 6A state-championship game, giving the Wolves program its second straight state title and pushing its winning streak to 28 games.
“Congratulations Prairie Ridge Wolves for your excellent season and here’s to a continued undefeated winning streak,” Hultgren said in the release.
