Analysis: Crystal Lake pays $3.55 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Crystal Lake Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78 percent of the $2,638,901 the Crystal Lake Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.55 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McHenry Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Crystal Lake contributed $2,059,342 to the fund, which saw a $291,406 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $579,535, or 22 percent, in 2016. Another $24 came from other unspecified sources.
