Analysis: Harvard pays $3.52 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Harvard Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77 percent of the $642,331 the Harvard Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.52 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McHenry Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Harvard contributed $494,857 to the fund, which saw a $88,714 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $140,321, or 21.8 percent, in 2016. Another $7,153 came from other unspecified sources.
