Analysis: Marengo pays $2.38 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Marengo Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 70.1 percent of the $370,252 the Marengo Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.38 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McHenry Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Marengo contributed $259,382 to the fund, which saw a $7,776 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $108,697, or 29.4 percent, in 2016. Another $2,173 came from other unspecified sources.
