Rep. Allen Skillicorn (R-East Dundee) recently praised the action of Lake in the Hills village leaders who bowed to public pressure and decided not to sell their municipal water company.
“I commend the village of Lake in the Hills for listening to their neighbors in the unincorporated portion of the village water system and voting overwhelming to work with them toward a mutual solution for affordable drinking water,” Skillicorn said in a release.
The board’s decision came after residents requested two delays and presented what they viewed as better alternatives at public hearings before the board.

Skillicorn hailed the collaborative process as restoring his faith in government.
“Now if we could transplant that attitude into the hearts of all of those who serve in our Capitol, maybe, just maybe, there is a chance to save our state,” he said in the release.
