Rep. Allen Skillicorn (R-East Dundee) used his point of personal privilege on the House floor Wednesday to say one thing – it is time for a revenue estimate.
Skillicorn said he is done waiting patiently for the revenue figures that are needed to establish a balanced budget, adding if lawmakers are going to think of any type of spending, it should be below the line.
“I hope that the public hears this and I hope the public reads the article in the Southern Illinoisan because this is a crucial issue,” Skillicorn said of the Democrats' stalling on providing the revenue estimate to Gov. Bruce Rauner.
Illinois has not had a revenue estimate for over three years, Skillicorn said, and at this point it doesn’t matter what side of the aisle is at fault anymore.
“I hope the majority and minority parties can work together, come up with a revenue estimate and stick to that,” Skillicorn said.
