Report: McHenry spent $13,145 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at McHenry Community High School District 156 is up 16 percent from five years ago, according to a McHenry Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mchenry County school district spent $11,352 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,145 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2464 to 2227.

McHenry's spending in 2016-17 was 1 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
