State Rep. Allen Skillicorn (R-Crystal Lake) had two special pages with him during House floor debate in April.
First introducing Dayton Warren, the 11-year-old son of Mike and Victoria Warren, Skillicorn said he had some special guests.
“He is joined by his older brother Donovan and his younger sister Gwendolyn,” Skillicorn said.
Homeschooled his entire life, Dayton is an avid reader and is particularly fond of biographies and the Hardy Boys series, according to Skillicorn.
“His favorite board game is chess, and he also enjoys building Legos and is a huge sports fan,” he added.
After noting that Dayton Warren is also a community volunteer, Skillicorn introduced Jonathon Hernandez.
“He is 13 years old and is in seventh grade,” Skillicorn said of the Sugar Grove resident, who is also homeschooled. “He is a very talented young man with [an] interest in entrepreneurship and engineering. He has his own candy selling business with the help of his dad on Amazon.”
Skillicorn concluded by asking for a warm Springfield welcome for the two children, which the House floor was pleased to give.
