State Sen. Craig Wilcox (R-McHenry) said "Gov. J.B. Pritkzer's (D) use of the term "Nazis" to describe supporters of President Donald Trump (R) was 'tyrannical.'"

"We have condemned the comments and highlighted how this tyrannical Governor must have forgotten how he treated residents during his Covid authority with Exec Order after Exec Order,” said Wilcox. “Only explanation was he was acknowledging how easily he manipulated and controlled his own residents and somehow needs to absolve his guilt by blaming others now for theoretically doing what he absolutely did already."

"I do not invoke the specter of Nazis lightly... I'm watching with a foreboding dread what is happening in our country right now,” said Pritzker in his State of the State Address on Feb. 19.

State Rep. John Cabello (R-Machesney Park) said Pritzker’s comments were "disgusting," reported Fox32Chicago, and State Rep. Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) said the governor’s comments “will only incite the violence he claims to condemn.”

Wilcox serves as the State Senator for Illinois' 32nd District, having been appointed in October 2018. He is the Minority Spokesperson for the Veterans Affairs and Labor Committees and a member of the Commerce, Education, Higher Education, Local Government, and Transportation Committees. Before his Senate tenure, Wilcox was a member of the McHenry County Board from 2016 to 2018. He served in the United States Air Force from 1989 to 2013, achieving the rank of Colonel and commanding the 89th Airlift Support Group at Joint Base Andrews. Wilcox earned an Electrical Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1989. Born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Essex Junction, Vermont, he resides in McHenry, Illinois, with his wife, Janice, and their three children.
