1. Call To Order
Chairperson Donna Britton called to order the regularly scheduled meeting of the Village of Huntley Historic Preservation Commission for Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 6:00 pm in the Village Hall – Conference Room C107, located at 10987 Main Street, Huntley, Illinois 60142. The room is handicap accessible.

4. Approval of Minutes
A. Approval of the April 17, 2018 Historic Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes
A Motion was made to approve the April 17, 2018 Historic Preservation Commission meeting minutes with the following corrections:
Page 1, Line 36, replace “as early as” with “in”
Page 1, Line 37, add “owner of the” and “owned a lumber yard.”
Page 2, Line 14, replace “is” with “it”
Page 2, Line 19, add “of”

5. Old Business
A. Pride in Preservation (PiP) program – May 24, 2018 Village Board Meeting
Commissioner Rizzo noted that she is prepared to review the review the recently awarded Pride in Preservation award recipient properties at the May 24th Village Board meeting.
B. Certificate of Appreciation – Saturday, May 26, 2018 – Farmers Market
Commissioner Rizzo will preside over the Certificate of Appreciation (Cofa) ceremony at the Farmers Market this Saturday, May 26th at noon.
Chairperson Britton will pick-up the signed CofA certificates at the Village Board meeting Thursday evening, May 24th.
Vice Chair Oldham reminded Staff to expect the Huntley Area Public Library (HAPL) personnel to transmit the 200 years of Huntley History Facts handout tomorrow in time for copies to be made and available for Saturday’s Farmers Market event.
C. Look at Local History Events - May, 2018
In addition to the 200 years of Huntley History Facts handout, Vice Chair Oldham noted that the HAPL hopes to have a laptop (weather permitting) at the Farmers Market in order to run a looped-presentation of the Huntley Facts listed on the handout.
D. Certified Local Government
Vice Chair Oldham stated that she has begun to assemble the Historic Preservation Commission’s accomplishments to include with the Village’s Certified Local Government application, and noted she looks forward to putting the achievements in chronological order before providing the list to Staff.
E. Historical Signage – Historic District and Downtown Square
Vice Chair Oldham suggested consulting with the McHenry County Historical Society and Museum staff to determine if they have any appropriate historical signage alternatives.
F.
Vice Chair Oldham agreed to send Staff a letter addressed to the Village Board seeking permission to prepare a landmark application for the Downtown Square.
G. Catty Building - Update
Director Nordman stated that he had no new news regarding the subject property.
Window Clings
Commissioner Waters reviewed the quote she received from Sign-A-Rama in Carpentersville for window clings includes a $25.00 set-up fee and $6.00 to $8.00 per window cling.
Murals
Wall muralists in Streator were discussed.
Commissioner Rizzo mentioned she has contacted TCF Bank regarding the donation funding they have provided in the past.
6. New Business
Chairperson Britton suggested moving the Historic Preservation Commission meeting time to 4:00 p.m.
7. Adjournment
At 7:00 p.m., A Motion was made by Vice Chair Oldham to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by
Commissioner Rizzo. Motion carried unanimously.
