Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chairman Michael J. Madigan (D-Chicago) has reported $71,758 in July contributions to Richard Johnson, a Democrat running for the Illinois State House of Representatives against Dan Ugaste in retiring GOP Rep. Steve Andersson's district.

The total reflects payments made through July 22.

Payments in support of the campaign included one totaling $27,000 on July 9 for polling. Two more, for $23,845 on July 13 and $20,913 on July 22, were to a printer in Philadelphia, as reported by the Illinois Democratic Party to the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE).

Johnson raised $1,100 in the second quarter from just three non-Madigan contributors, according to his June 30 ISBE filing.
