Woodstock Chamber of Commerce & Industry issued the following announcement on July 27.
Both the Illinois State Senate and McHenry County Board have proclaimed August as Illinois Free and Charitable Clinic month. Senator Pamela Althoff (R-32) and County Board Chairman Jack Franks signed resolutions to recognize the valuable work of free and charitable clinics in our state. Family Health Partnership Clinic (FHPC) located in Crystal Lake, IL is one of the 43 clinics in the Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics celebrating this month. Community members are encouraged to connect with the clinic for more information and ways to get involved.
Throughout Illinois, 1,120,000 people are still uninsured. Free and Charitable Clinics provide quality healthcare to the uninsured and underinsured by providing a wide range of services at low cost or no cost to the patients. The clinics receive no federal or state funding and must rely on private sources of funding.
“One of the best clinics in the state serving our most vulnerable people is the Family Health Partnership Clinic in Crystal Lake” stated County Board Chairman Jack Franks.
Serving the population of McHenry County, FHPC provides medical, dental, mental therapy and some specialty care to approximately 2,000 patients annually with the help of volunteer doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals. The clinic also serves individuals unable to get to the clinic through their Mobile Health Outreach, bringing care to homeless shelters and community centers.
“Family Health Partnership Clinic is a valuable piece of our healthcare system in McHenry County” said Senator Pamela Althoff.
Illinois clinics serve year round with a promise to never turn anyone away due to their inability to pay. With this, the IAFCC clinics have been able to help hundreds of thousands of Illinoisans who struggle with access to care.
