Centegra Health System - Mc Henry Hospital issued the following announcement on Aug. 29.
Centegra Health System will offer a free support group for people who have had a stroke and their families from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month at Centegra Hospital-McHenry, 4201 Medical Center Drive.
Recovering from a stroke is a challenging process for patients and their families. The effects of a stroke vary widely and recovery involves physical, social and emotional changes. The Centegra Stroke Support Group focuses on physical and emotional healing by providing education, socialization and support to you and your family. The first hour is an educational session led by a clinical expert. The second hour is group support and open discussion.

- 11 — Preventing Another Stroke with Dr. Heeren R. Patel, a neurohospitalist at Centegra, in Classroom D
- 9 — Mindfulness with Kelly A. Gustafson, an independent psychologist on the medical staff at Centegra, in Classroom C
- 13 — Sleep Apnea and Stroke with Dr. Benjamin J. Nager, a neurologist with Centegra Physician Care, in Classroom C
- 11 — Diabetes Overview with Randi Barbon, a diabetes nurse educator with Centegra, in Classroom C
