City of Crystal Lake issued the following announcement on Sept. 11.
The Union Pacific Railroad will be closing Crystal Lake Avenue at the railroad crossing near East Street from Monday, September 17, 2018 through Thursday, September 27, 2018 for railroad crossing repairs.
This closure is necessary to replace the rail and perform surface repairs.
Signage has been posted at the crossing and a detour route will be posted utilizing Erick Street, Illinois Route 176 and Main Street.
