In addition and most importantly, local resources will be provided for families and friends whose loved one may face a substance use issue.
- Project B3 for Parents - A technology and social media presentation to help parents successfully navigate the new digital generation
Project B3 is a nonprofit dedicated to educating students and parents on how to safely navigate new technologies and platforms. Funded by CDW, this unique program has partnered with schools across Chicagoland to teach students how to use the internet safely and responsibly. The program doesn’t limit internet usage but rather empowers kids to Be Safe, Be Smart and Be Kind when going online. District 47 students in grades 3-8 receive Project B3 training from 8th grade and high school students leaders. While the “big kids” are the secret weapon in Project B3’s core program, getting on the same page with parents is a critical piece of the solution to ensure a 360-degree experience for all students. During this seminar, parents will be provided with a hands-on review of the top apps or platforms they need to know about as well as useful tips and advice on how to help their children use the internet safely and responsibly.
