McHenry County Liquor & License Commission met Aug. 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:

1. CALL TO ORDER

Meeting called to order at: 8:30 AM by Robert Nowak.

PRESENT: Spoerl, Nowak, Hammerand, Aavang

ABSENT: Kurtz, Kopsell, Jung Jr.

Also present: Peter Austin, County Administrator and interested public.

2. MINUTES APPROVAL

1. Liquor & License - Public Meeting - Jul 23, 2018 8:30 AM

RESULT: ACCEPTED [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: Michele Aavang

SECONDER: Christopher Spoerl

AYES: Spoerl, Nowak, Hammerand, Aavang

ABSENT: Kurtz, Kopsell, Jung Jr.

3. PUBLIC COMMENT

None.

4. MEMBERS' COMMENTS

None.

5. PRESENTATION

None.

6. NEW BUSINESS

A. New Liquor License, Manager and/or Amusement License Requests

None.

B. Raffle Permit and Special Liquor License Requests

1. Motion: Harvard Sportsman's Club Inc. - Class F liquor license

Commission members reviewed an application and supporting documentation for a Class "F" liquor license for Harvard Sportsman's Club Inc. This event is scheduled for September 22, 2018. Noting all documents were in order, Ms. Aavang made a motion, seconded by Mr. Spoerl, to approve the Class "F" liquor license for Harvard Sportsman's Club Inc. for an event on September 22, 2018.

RESULT: RECOMMENDED [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: Michele Aavang

SECONDER: Christopher Spoerl

AYES: Spoerl, Nowak, Hammerand, Aavang

ABSENT: Kurtz, Kopsell, Jung Jr.

2. Motion: Harvard Lady Sting - Class F liquor license

Commission members reviewed an application and supporting documentation for a Class "F" liquor license for Harvard Lady Sting. This event is scheduled for September 8, 2018. Noting all documents were in order, Ms. Aavang made a motion, seconded by Mr. Spoerl, to approve the Class "F" liquor license for Harvard Lady Sting for an event on September 8, 2018.

RESULT: RECOMMENDED [UNANIMOUS]

SECONDER: Christopher Spoerl

AYES: Spoerl, Nowak, Hammerand, Aavang

ABSENT: Kurtz, Kopsell, Jung Jr.

3. Motion: LAMAC Sportsman Club - raffle

Mr. Hammerand made a motion, seconded by Mr. Spoerl, to review five raffle permits at the same time, those being for LAMAC Sportsman Club, Wonder Lake Water Ski Show Team, Transitional Living Services, United Way of Greater McHenry County and It's All About Kids Inc. Commission members reviewed the applications and noted all documents were complete and bond information provided.

RESULT: RECOMMENDED [UNANIMOUS]

SECONDER: Christopher Spoerl

AYES: Spoerl, Nowak, Hammerand, Aavang

ABSENT: Kurtz, Kopsell, Jung Jr.

4. Wonder Lake Water Ski Show Team - raffle

See above motion and vote.

5. Transitional Living Services (TLS Veterans) - raffle

See above motion and vote.

6. United Way of Greater McHenry County - raffle

See above motion and vote.

7. It's All About Kids Inc. - raffle

See above motion and vote.

7. OLD BUSINESS

Mr. Hammerand questioned why the commission hasn't had any reports from the Sheriff's office regarding liquor related incidences. Chairman Nowark commented he hasn't had the opportunity to speak with the Sheriff's department, but plans to this coming month.

9. EXECUTIVE SESSION (AS NECESSARY)

None.

10. ADJOURNMENT

Mr. Spoerl made a motion, seconded by Ms. Aavang, to adjourn the meeting at 8:38 a.m. The motion passed with all members present voting aye on a voice vote (Nowak, , Spoerl, Hammerand, Aavang)
