State Senator Craig Wilcox (R-McHenry) will host two IPASS on Demand events in Lake County this September, bringing a mobile team from the Illinois Tollway to assist residents with the transition to new sticker technology. The first event is set for September 9 at the Fox Lake District Library, followed by another on September 17 at the Lake Villa District Library in Lindenhurst.
“The success of these IPASS events have exceeded all expectations, and there is a clear need to hold more of these helpful events in Lake and McHenry Counties,” said Wilcox. “As the Tollway continues to transition away from plastic transponders, I will keep bringing mobile teams to the 32nd District to help Northwest Illinoisans make the switch to the new sticker technology. In September, I’m hosting the mobile team on September 9 in Fox Lake and on September 17 in Lindenhurst.”
Illinois Tollway officials will be present at both locations to help attendees transfer their accounts from plastic transponders to stickers and answer questions about IPASS accounts or ‘Pay by Plate’ issues. The sticker tags can be used on Illinois tollways and E-Z Pass roadways in other states within 24 hours of activation. No deposit is required for the sticker; any previous $10 transponder deposit will transfer automatically when activating a new account.
“Those who plan to attend should bring their plastic transponders inside with them and also make note of their license plate numbers,” added Wilcox. “This will help ensure quick service.”
Wilcox has represented Illinois' 32nd Senate District since his election in 2018, succeeding Pamela Althoff. For more information about these free events, residents can contact Senator Wilcox’s legislative office at (815) 455-6330 or email Abby at amccarthy@sgop.ilga.gov.
