McHENRY COUNTY: Mental Health Board Announces CFY19 Funding Allocations

Nonprofit funding

McHenry County issued the following announcement on Nov. 14.

November 13, 2018: Few issues impact our community quite like mental illness, substance use, and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Mental illnesses, substance use, and intellectual and developmental disabilities affect people from all walks of life and all age groups.

Some of the most common disorders have life-long effects that include high costs to individuals, families, health care systems, and communities.

They cost money, and they cost lives, as do physical illnesses that are not prevented, are left untreated, or are poorly managed.

The McHenry County Mental Health Board (MCMHB) operates in accordance with the Community Mental Health Act serving as a planner, developer, funder and evaluator of a local service network.

For County Fiscal Year (CFY) 2019, the MCMHB has allocated $9,933,780 in local funds supporting MCMHB network services and activities including 30+ agencies offering a continuum of 70+ services, programs and projects providing prevention, treatment, and recovery support for McHenry County residents..
