Report: Marengo spent $18,963 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Marengo Community High School District 154 is up 35.2 percent from five years ago, according to a McHenry Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Mchenry County school district spent $14,021 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $18,963 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 775 to 701.

Marengo's spending in 2017-18 was 42.2 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
