Village of Richmond Community Development Committee met May 14.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The Regular Community Development Committee meeting held at the Village Hall, 5600 Hunter Drive was called to order by Chair/Trustee Robert Elliott at 5:30 PM.

Present: Trustees: Robert Elliott (Chair), Gina Garbis and Frank Peiler.

Members Absent: None.

Others Village Officials/Staff Present: Code Enforcement Officer Mike McAlevy.

Approval of Minutes: The committee reviewed the Regular Community Development Committee minutes for March 19, 2019.

Trustee Peiler moved, seconded by Trustee Elliott to approve the Regular Community Development Committee minutes for March 15, 2019 as presented. The motion was approved by voice vote.

Unfinished Business: None. Public Comments: None.

New Business: The Code Enforcement Officer provide photographs of all off premise signs located within the Village. The committee discussed off premise signs and billboards. They will recommend to the full Board for the Code Enforcement Officer to proceed with removal of off premise signs. The CDC will further investigate off premise billboards.

CDC will recommend to the full Board to not grant a variance and removal of the off premise sign for the Mobil Gas Station in Genoa City.

Additionally, the committee will recommend to the full Board the removal of advertising signs from the Village “Welcome to Richmond” signs and refund money back to the businesses occupying spaces.

The request to install awnings on the existing brackets was reviewed for Finery & Finishes located at 10315 Main Street. The committee will recommend approval to the full Board.

Adjournment: There being no further business to discuss, Trustee Peiler moved, seconded by Trustee Garbis to adjourn the May 14, 2019 Regular Community Development Committee meeting. The motion was approved by voice vote.

Meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM.
