Village of Richmond Community Development Committee met June 18.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

The Regular Community Development Committee meeting held at the Village Hall, 5600 Hunter Drive was called to order by Chair/Trustee Robert Elliott at 5:30 PM.

Present: Trustees: Robert Elliott (Chair), Gina Garbis and Frank Peiler.

Members Absent: None.

Others Village Officials/Staff Present: None.

Approval of Minutes: The committee reviewed the Special Community Development Committee minutes for May 13, 2019 and the Regular Community Development Committee minutes for May 14, 2019.

Trustee Peiler moved, seconded by Trustee Garbis to approve the Special Community Development Committee minutes for May 13, 2019 and Regular Community Development Committee minutes for May 14, 2019 as presented. The motion was approved by voice vote.

Unfinished Business: None. Public Comments: None.

New Business: Trustee Elliott reported on “Bistro Richmond”, that two singers and two writers/artists have been contacted, and all are looking forward to performing.

The committee agrees that “Richmond Country Night” event should have lots of interest. Hours to be 7 PM-11 PM with live DJ and cash bar on August 10, 2019.

“Off-Premise” signs were discussed. The CDC will gather information on sign owners and provide it to the Village President and Village Clerk to write informational letters to achieve the removal of “off-premise” signage by April 30, 2020, for all small signs, billboards and Village Welcome Signs.

Committee members reviewed the previous duties of the CDC and discussed redefining the committee duties to take back economic development issues. All members were unanimous on taking back the duties of economic development issues.

The Community Development Committee is developing letterhead stationery and identity for the Village.

Adjournment: There being no further business to discuss, Trustee Peiler moved, seconded by Trustee Garbis to adjourn the June 18, 2019 Regular Community Development Committee meeting. The motion was approved by voice vote.

Meeting adjourned at 6:40 PM.
