McHenry home prices rise in the first quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2019 in McHenry rose by $9,000 while total sales decreased by 18.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2019, there were 94 homes sold, with a median sale price of $169,000 - a 5.6% increase over the $160,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 115 homes sold in McHenry in the first quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in McHenry for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $5,203, approximately 3.1% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2019.
